Thanks for dropping by!

I’m Bridget Hustwaite, a Melbourne-based music presenter, author and podcaster. Professional bio below ;)

Hustwaite first made her mark in the music and media industry in 2012 by beating 6000 hopefuls to reach the top 2 in Channel V’s Presenter Search. It was Bridget’s first time in front of a camera but her passion and music knowledge shone through, as did her ability to work under pressure. Bridget went on to lose the competition but the defeat created a fresh wave of determination, prompting her to volunteer for online music publication The AU Review. Hustwaite quickly rose as one of their most reliable writers, frequently reviewing gigs both in Ballarat and Melbourne, as well as interviewing artists and reporting on new single releases.

2012 also saw Bridget join Melbourne media organization SYN (Student Youth Network) as a presenter on 1700, Melbourne’s only youth produced live music show. In 2014, Hustwaite swapped TV for radio and hosted two seasons of SYN’s flagship Australian music show, The Hoist, whilst also producing and presenting her own seasonal program called Spotlight, serving as a one hour Melbourne music guide with a focus on support acts.

Bridget’s love for The Hoist lead to her producing the entire show throughout 2015, before joining triple j over summer as a mid-dawn presenter. A former presenter for TOPS on triple j unearthed, Bridget has previously filled in on various programs such as Lunch, Weekend LunchWeekend Breakfast, House Party, 2020 and Home & Hosed. In December 2017 it was announced that Bridget would be taking over as host of Good Nights, the flagship new music program on triple j.

Having judged in The Age Music Victoria Awards, NT Song Of The Year Awards, ARIA Awards and Eurovision Song Contest 2022 (Australian Jury), Bridget is an active member of the music community. Alongside previous appearances at Face The Music, Bridget is also no stranger to the stage as an MC for The Push x triple j Unearthed’s Live At The Steps, St. Kilda Festival, Spin Off Festival, Spilt Milk Festival, Down To Earth Bushfire Relief Concert, triple j’s One Night Stand (Lucindale) and triple j’s WAMFest stage (Perth). You may have caught her behind the decks from time to time, most notably at the bi-annual Finders Keepers Markets in Melbourne and on ABC TV, co-hosting series two of The Sound. Other TV appearances include The Project, The Cheap Seats, The Today Show and co-host of the 2023 ARIA Awards Red Carpet, as well as backstage at the awards for Stan Australia.

Outside of music, Bridget is a passionate advocate for Endometriosis, a chronic condition that she was diagnosed with in August 2018. Bridget raises awareness through her popular instagram account @endogram and her first book ‘How To Endo’, which reached bestselling status within the first week of release in March 2021. Bridget has spoken of her illness, advocacy and writing at numerous noted events such as the Melbourne Writers Festival (2021), University of Melbourne Medical Student Conference (2022) and National Youth Disability Summit (2022).

Bridget has also proven to be an in-demand brand collaborator, partnering with the likes of Garnier, Sportsgirl, UNIQLO, VUSH and more.

Bridget’s latest project is an independent podcast series called Figuring Out 30, exploring the chaos, confusion and clarity that comes with turning 30. Within days of release, Figuring Out 30 made Spotify’s Top 20 Podcast Chart (AU/NZ) and made their top 5% most shared podcasts globally for 2022. The podcast also received a New & Noteworthy feature on Apple Podcasts and Bridget was asked to personally curate a playlist of songs to accompany the podcast, which was featured as Pick Of The Day on Apple Music. Figuring Out 30 will be returning for a third season in 2024.
